Rabbit Calicivirus in Australia

Rabbit calicivirus (Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus, or RHDV*) is one of two viruses introduced into Australia to control wild rabbit populations (the other being myxomatosis). Keeping your pets safe this Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2017

We all love getting spoiled on Valentine’s Day! And while chocolates and flowers make perfect gifts for humans, not all of these romantic presents are safe to have around our pets.   Chocolate is for humans Whenever we ask clients if they know what foods are toxic to animals, chocolate is always the first to […]

Get to know Freddie - one of the very special winners of our pet Of The Month competition in January! Freddie's mum, Danielle gave us this inspiring story:

"On the 2nd of November 2015 a special little miracle puppy was born, Freddie. It was soon discovered a couple of days into his tiny life that he was different from the rest and something was wrong...Freddie had been born with a serious birth defect.... A cleft palette.

It was at this stage when I (Danielle) then came into Freddie's life, 3 different vets told me he had about a 5% chance of survival but I still decided to give tube feeding a go as I believed that as long as there is life... There is hope.

I've never raised a cleft palette puppy before and the first 6-8 weeks of Freddie's life was pretty much an emotional roller coaster for all of our family. But he defied the odds and here he is alive and healthy 1 year later!

Freddie is our world, he's had many surgeries throughout his first year of life to correct his birth defect but most have proved unsuccessful, whilst this is disappointing for us you couldn't tell anything was wrong with our little trouper.

Always smiling and getting up to mischief no matter what life throws at him."

Janine PringHello little Freddie...I want to say that pet doctor looked after my little Dora (pictured) over the last couple of years. However I had to make a call to them a few weeks ago to say she had passed away. Thankyou to all the wonderful caring vet's & the girls who loved her just like I did xo

Narrelle ManciniOur beautiful Cocker Spaniel Marty was born with one too, and we took him under our care as we couldn't bear the alternative that was suggested. He has been the most beautiful, loving dog and we think he is perfect. Love your story and little Freddie 💜
