blood analysis at pet doctor vet

Our in-house facilities include urine, blood analysis and pathology. We are able to screen a wide range of conditions in determining your pet’s health status and ability to tolerate anaesthesia.

We are able to test Liver, Heart, Thyroid, Kidney, Pancreas and Infections.

Pets cannot tell us when they don’t feel well. A healthy appearing pet may be hiding symptoms of a disease or ailment. For example, a pet can lose up to 75% of its kidney function before showing any physical symptoms.

A common blood test that we at Pet Doctor recommend is the Pre Anaesthetic Blood Profile. It is our job to ensure that your pet can properly process then eliminate the anaesthetic that he or she is given. Before we perform any procedure requiring anaesthesia, we run tests to confirm that your pet’s organs are functioning properly and to reveal any hidden health conditions that could put your pet at risk.

If your pet is due to undergo any procedure that requires a general anaesthetic, please contact one of our friendly Nurses to discuss.
